Planning is Important…

Cary has been so successful because in the 80’s and 90’s we did a lot of planning for large planned unit developments like Lochmere and Preston. In doing this we made sure the roads went in before they were needed. We need to review and revise our land development ordnance to get back to what worked well with Planned unit Developments. We need to revise and simplify the LDO to keep the vision, and reduce some of the micromanaged details.

Some local issues are bigger than Cary

Roads and school capacity cannot be solved by the Cary town council alone. They are regional issues that require leaders willing to look beyond our limited town authority and build regional solutions. We have to be sure we have the school seats we need, sooner vs. later, that will cost less, and that’s good for everyone. Keep Erv Portman working for all of us in Cary.
